Now that your project is funded and your renovations have begun, you probably have questions about how to get your Draws when you need them. Here’s 10 steps that will save you time and money when requesting Draws!

1. Keep Your Account Current – Ensure your monthly payments are made on time. Any late payment and / or unpaid fees will be deducted from your draw request amount.

2. Complete the Draw Request Form – Fill out the form in My Projects completely, save it, and sign. Do not request payment for any renovations that were not listed on your original budget or that are not complete. Be sure you completed your method of payment instructions and access information.

3. Submit the Form – Press the submit button on the online form. The inspector will be contacted to schedule an appointment time. Do not contact the inspector directly. Draw inspections usually take place 24 to 48 hours after receiving a draw request.

4. Batch Your Inspections – Because there is a charge for each inspection, it’s a good idea to group them as much as possible.

5. Provide Secure Access – You do not need to be present for the inspection. You DO need to provide access to the home from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on the day of your inspection. Access can include access codes or key location. Do not tell the inspector to “call when you are on the way.” This will only delay your draw inspection. If the inspector has any questions, he will contact you from the job site.

6. Ensure the Work is Complete – The inspector will only inspect the items listed on the draw request that he receives from Zeus CrowdFunding. He is not authorized to add new work to the draw request.

   Draw requests are approved only for the work that is completed in a workmanlike manner. All items must be installed and in working order to be approved. No draws will be approved for materials that have not been attached to the house. Materials purchased and merely stored on or off site do not qualify for a draw.

7. Avoid Extra Trip Fees – There is a trip charge associated with any time that the inspector travels to the address; so double check the address, zip code, phone number, and access information you provide.

   If the inspector cannot enter the home, you will be charged a trip fee. Be sure to add a lock box combination, access code, or key location to your draw request form.

   If you cancel within 3 days of your scheduled inspection, you will also be charged a trip fee.

8. Building Permits & City Inspections – The first thing the inspector looks for is the building permit. Refer to the municipality where the project is for more information. No permit visible – no inspection.

9. City Inspections – Remember, your project must pass city inspection for a draw and your project must pass city final inspection for the final draw.

10. Always be Courteous – It’s never a good idea to abuse the staff or the inspector. Raising your voice or other rude behavior will result in your request being shuffled to the bottom of the stack.
